[REVIEW] Kate Wide Edge Eyeshadow Palette in BR-1

By Kristine Lam - February 10, 2012

Palette with korilakkuma :3

As you can probably see already, the colour is slightly off from the official image on their site.

From Kate
[An eye shadow palette that creates wider, larger, and more defined eyes using light-diffusing "eye-widening control pearl"]

Retailing at around $13-15 CAD/palette, I think this is a very worthwhile buy. It's not super pigmented like high-end brands like Dior, but works fairly well for it's price. If you use a primer first, the colours come out pretty true to the palette.

I believe you can find them on eBay and Sasa.

If you love shimmery palettes, I would definately recommend this one. From my previous experiences with Kate, most of their palettes are very sparkly. Some people find this a negative thing but personally I love glittery eyes.

I'm pretty noob with eyeshadow so I tend to stay with natural earth tones like this.
Off to the swatches!

The "wide control pearl" is more of a champagne-bronzey colour in the swatch but is actually pretty much just champagne-gold shimmer. It's very nice dab in the middle of your lids if you really want your eyes to sparkle :)
Ah and the eye base (white) was quite hard to capture in photo, but it's just your typical base colour that blends right in.

Price: 5/5
Overall: 4.5/5

Ah, and yes I will be hosting a giveaway contest soon on tumblr in conjunction with Trinity Styles!
