Macau Trip!

By Kristine Lam - May 25, 2012

During my stay in Hong Kong, I decided to make a trip to Macau as it is just an hour ferry ride away :D

We chose to go when it was a bit cooler (by that I mean 28/29 degrees hahha -___-) so it would be easier for us to walk outside on the streets!

Ruins of St. Paul (Ruínas de São Paulo)

I've always seen these ruins in photos but being there in person ... it was really quite beautiful :)

It was packed! And the street straight ahead is where all the "souvenier" shops are..and the most common souvenir from Macau would be FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!! They are famous for their almond cookies and pork/beef jerky AND portegeuse egg tarts :D The best part can sample everything in store and completely pig out -w-

Night view from my hotel room
Definitely a good place to visit if you're ever in Hong Kong and want to make a short trip else where :) I stayed one night at Sofitel Pointe 16 but a lot of people do not stay over night. Instead, they head out early in the morning and return the same day. Hotels rates are quite pricey in Macau. I spent $1400 HKD (~$186 CAD) for a one night stay there (5 star hotel)

That's it for now :D
Plenty of reviews coming up in the next few posts!
