If you do gel nails at home - you have 1 reason to be excited because Sephora has a new line of gel polishes out for the summer :D
I've been using IBD soft gels since I started doing gel nails at home. This OPI gel system is like the gellish or shellac soft gel. They are supposed to last for 2-3 weeks without chip or peeling. I would love to try this out after I'm done with my IBD material :O
They offer quite a few colors - from opaque to glitter.
Gel nails are much more time consuming than regular polish though. Even if you are doing just a simple color overlay, there are quite a few steps before you can apply the polish itself (disinfecting, ph balancing etc). Complicated designs like frecnh tips, glitter tips and 3d designs can take up to 4-5 hours if you're doing them by youself .____.''
Gel nails are salons are very pricey and doing them at home is much more economical :D A set of plain shellac nails would usually cost around $50 CAD+ at the salon. Getting a complete gel kit is around $150-180 CAD so it pays off after 5-6 uses!
But do make sure you know what you're doing first! If you do not apply gel polishes properly or do not clean your tools/nail bed properly, you may be putting your nail beds at the risk of getting infections and what not!
