[REVIEW] BRTC Jasmine Water BB Cream SPF 30 PA++

By Kristine Lam - June 08, 2013

Been wanting to write this review for the longest time ~ finally getting down to it now!
BRTC's Jasmine Water BB cream is my all time favourite bb cream. I've already used one tube of this previously and recently got a new one as a set along with their compact powder and cleanser.

BRTC has an entire line of make up and skin care in the jasmine water series.

As with most BRTC products, it is formulated with their signature blue phyto complex. They target people with sensitive and dry skin using this complex. It's derived from: Blue Flowers of Lavender, Cornflower, Borage, Chamomile (the building blocks of all BRTC products) to soothe and moisturize.

All that aside now!

Like most bb creams, this one unfortunately only comes in one shade with a slight pinkish undertone. After some research, I believe it is the lightest shade out of all their bb creams. If you have fair skin, this should be great for you. If you have slightly darker tones, you can always balance it out with a lighter shade of powder to top it off :)

One thing to note is that this smells wonderful! I love jasmine tea and the smell of this is just like it. The texture isn't too watery but isn't too thick to blend out easily.

Dumb looking bare face. I have mild redness and uneven color on my cheeks  + dark eye circles from allergies :( a few acne scars near my forehead and a few on my cheeks

Here's a gross hd close up...my camera is too clear for its own good...

After you've applied moisturizer, you can continue on to bb cream. I usually apply this with my fingers (out of laziness) but I've tried using a sponge/beautyblender and stippling brush which both work as well.

Dab dab dab all over your face and then blend it out with whatever works best for you - brush, sponge or good old fingers.

Ja jang ~ afters:

This is a light-medium coverage bb cream. It does a pretty decent job covering up the mild redness on my cheeks but for my scars I still need to use a concealer to go over top or apply a second layer on top. Applying a concealer is probably the way to go if you have dark scars or pigmentation. I've seen people complain that it cakes after applying a second layer - but I haven't had any issues with that so far. Usually my second layer is super thin and only over small spots so maybe that's why!

The finish is semi-matte and gives off the signature dewy skin that Korean people love.

Staying power/oil control - I have normal (sometimes dry? :\) combination skin and this bb cream stays put all day for me without powder. I usually get slightly oily around the T-zone area half way through the day but this bb cream keeps it under control. Generally I would say dry-normal combination skin would be suitable for this.

You can get this bb cream from BRTC's official store, Sasa and many other online korean cosmetic retailers. The price generally ranges from $18-28 depending on where you buy it. I would definitely highly recommend this to anyone that is looking for a good light-medium coverage bb cream that stays put all day long even without powder :D

Hope this was helpful for you <3

I guess this bb cream isn't for me because I've got oily combination skin :'c Your skin looks really fair what's your lightening secret? haha I love jasmine smell too but usually I don't like bb creams with a scent~ *^~^ nice review :)

    1. You're welcome!
I don't actually use any whitening products - but I found out not too long ago that the medicated sekkisei from kose has whitening properties in it. I've been using that for around 2 years now :) but I'm not too sure about the effects since I didn't really pay attention to that :(

  2. I love this BB cream as well! Thank you for the review~
