[MINI HAUL] Drugstore Goodies

A few weeks back I made a short trip down to the states and picked up a few goodies! Things are so much cheaper when compared to drugstores here. It's even better when the exchange rates are nice for CDN-USD ;)

I've been on the look out for this Maybelline The Nudes palette after seeing it on their Facebook fanpage. You can never have too many nude palettes ;)

This is a nice switch from the UB naked 2 since the Maybelline palette has quite a few matte shades. I haven't really played around with matte shadows so this was a nice "starter kit".

I also grabbed one of the popular Real Techniques expert face brush. Worth all the hype IMO. Get one if you can!

And of course I got a few nail products right? I picked up my n-th bottle of Seche Vite top coat. Even though it smells absolutely toxic, I haven't really found anything that dries in literally 30 seconds AND gives you a mirror gloss finish.

Speaking of glossy finish, I grabbed this newly released Sally Hansen Miracle Gel polish set. These were $14.99 USD for a set of two - a polish color + top coat. They are regularly $14.99 each so this was a pretty good deal.

You can't expect too much out of these "gel-like" polishes. Let's face it, they're still just regular nail polish and you can't really get the same longevity as actual gel manicures with them. HOWEVER, gel formula polishes do have UV-activated components in them to enhance shine and maybe increase their lifetime.

With all that being said, I got a good 6 day no chip and minimal tip wear with this combo. It's best to use this polish during the day time where natural UV daylight is available. A little pricey for what it is really, so I probably won't be getting any more from this collection.

What have you gotten lately from the drugstore? Do you have any recommendations on awesome products? Let me know :D!
