[REVIEW] Ipsy Bag July 2014 - Pur Big Look Waterproof Mascara
I got the Pur Big Look Waterproof Mascara as a part of my July Ipsy 2014 bag. If you don't already know, Ipsy bag is one of the many subscription services out there and this one is created by Michelle Phan. It's probably the only subscription bag I feel is worth the money because you aren't constantly stuffed with cheap, boring drugstore products (ahem - glos....x). You actually receive high end products from brands like Urban Decay, Bare Minerals and also new emerging brands such as Pur cosmetics.
If you'd like to try out some cool products each month, I would really recommend joining Ipsy! Signing up is really easy and you can do so by clicking here!
Onto the review!
The packaging of this mascara is absolutely on point. The fake water droplets (waterproof nudge nudge) on the top is such a unique design - love it.
All my mascaras are waterproof because stick-straight Asian lashes just don't do well with regular formulas.
Besides being waterproof, the wand is also a key element in determining if I'm going to like the mascara or not. This wand has a really big brush - almost too big. However, it does have a lot of small bristles which is always good for catching onto your lashes nicely.
Voila - two coats and here's what you get. Application was a bit finicky because the brush was way too big for my liking. I had to be careful not to get this all over my lids D:
This mascara lengthens and adds a bit of volume. Nothing that really blew me away but it did hold up for the entire day without budging.
Removing this was just like any other waterproof mascara out there so I recommend using a duo-phase eye make up remover :)
Price - Slightly pricey $20 USD
Formula - Adds decent length + tad bit of volume and no smudging/flaking
Anything else? - Beautiful packaging / the brush is a bit too big for my liking :(
I give this 3.5/5 because of the price and the size of the wand/brush.
