[REVIEW] The Face Shop All About Mascara Base

I love a good mascara base because I'm not a huge fan of wearing falsies on a daily basis. My favourite since forever has been the famous Majolica Majorca fibre base but I decided to give this All About Mascara Primer from The Face Shop a try because it was quite cheap :p I can't remember exactly how much it cost but I'm sure it was below the $10 mark at my local The Face Shop store.

I paired it with the Kiss Me Heroine Make Mascara which I absolutely love and the results were quite amazing.

The brush is alright - nothing too special. I would prefer the Majolica Majorca comb style (on the left) instead as this doesn't separate your lashes as well.

The formula is thick and slightly "wet" like the Lancome Cils Booster XL so it does weigh your lashes down a little after applying. I re-curl my lashes after applying to make up for that. As with all mascara bases, do not over apply! No one wants clumpy white fibers all over the place.

Overall thoughts:

This is a wonderful and inexpensive alternative to the Lancome Cils Booster XL if you are a fan of it. The Face Shop's mascara base adds great length and volume to your lashes. The only downfall is the wet formula which weighs lashes down slightly. This can be easily fixed with recurling your lashes after application though. I don't usually have any flaking issues since all my mascara's are waterproof but this doesn't cause any problems for sure - might even be helping the mascara stay on longer!

Giving this high score of 4.5/5 for being affordable and effective!
You can get this online on eBay if you are interested in trying this out.
