Stay Moisturized - The Face Shop, The Body Shop + Nature Republic

Canadian winters can get very dry and for my already dry skin, it only gets worse :( Keeping my body moisturized is a must all year round. We generally focus a lot on our facial skin care but sometimes forget about the rest of our body. So hopefully this post will be a quick reminder to slap on the body butter and hand cream ;)!

The Nature Republic Aloe Vera Soothing Gel is my go-to when my skin is not doing so well. I tend to get dry, flaky and itchy skin once a month (you know what I mean) and this gel really helps combat all of that. Although it does have a small amount of alcohol and fragrance, I've had no issue using this on my sensitive skin. There's many uses for this gel and you can use this practically everywhere on your body - even on your hair. I use this on my face when my skin is suffering from breakouts and hormonal eczema. It's perfect for the warmer weather and those nasty sun burns because of it's cooling effect on the skin!

The Body Shop's Body Butters are my favourite thing to slap on after showering. There's millions of scents to choose from and I've been loving this Passion Fruit one. It's super thick and creamy but absorbs really quickly so it doesn't leave you feeling sticky. Even better is that The Body Shop always has promotions (buy 3 get 3 free, 40-50% off etc) so you can get your hands on a huge tub for only $10 CAD or less.

And how can we forget about our hands and feet? My random purchase from The Face Shop has led me to find my holy grail hand and feet cream. This Hand & Foot Total Treatment has Vitamin E and shea butter to keep dry cuticles and skin at bay. This has helped tremendously with my dry feet. You only need a small amount and it will melt into a smooth cream. Again, this absorbs very quickly which is a must for a good hand/foot cream. The price point is great at $9 CAD for 110ml. I've already repurchased my second tub of this and I cannot imagine being without it!

  1. I have eyed The body shop's body butters for a LOONG time, but never got myself to try it. I take care of the skin on my face, but not the skin of my body......I really should try one out :P

  2. I want to try that gel. Here in Florida my skin gets mauled by the sun in summer if I'm not careful. I don't tan. I burn. Twenty minutes in the sun and I look like a clawless lobster. I think it would help my poor face after getting burned.

    1. I would definitely look into the aloe vera gel then - it's a savior for any damaged or irritated skin!

  3. This is a super helpful post because I suffer from somewhat dry skin too! Unfortunately, I haven't found a moisturizer that works for my skin so I'll definitely look into these products.

  4. I'm glad to have found this post! I, too, have very dry skin naturally so moisturizers tend to have to be on the heavier side. The Body Shop works wonders for me as well, though, I don't think I've tried the passion fruit one! And using the aloe vera gel is a good tip. Thanks for sharing. :)
