[TUTORIAL] Easy Marble Nail Art (Regular Polish + Gel Polish)

By Kristine Lam - September 02, 2015

I haven't posted any tutorials on here for a very long time and I think it's finally time for a nail art tut! This simple and easy marble nail design can be done very easily with gel nail polishes. The same technique used with regular nail polish gives you a similar result as well.

Let's start with gel polishes first!

Gel polish is great because you can keep working on your design without worrying about the polish drying. You can keep dabbing and blending until you're happy with what your design before curing. The more you blend, the more "marble" looking it will be. It doesn't have to look like marble either, as you can see the sample above looks sort of floral-y because I didn't fully blend everything out.

If you keep patting and blending, you can achieve the look that's on my nail right now and the sample nail below:

It's essentially the same except you have to work quickly as nail polish dries fast. I'd suggest putting on a good amount (blobs, preferably) for each color so you have more to time and color to blend with.

You can lightly blend with a small sponge or a flat synthetic brush. I used a flat brush for this demo. A top coat that gives a volumizing gel-like finish looks best since you might have uneven patches from blending.

Hope you found this tutorial helpful and try it out for yourself!
